Overall update

Ok.. so it's been a while since I've written, so I guess I'll update you guys up till now.

Running: Well week before last was really good! I ran 5 miles almost every morning that week and then on Saturday (9/29) I ran my farthest run so far which is 7 miles.
A lot of you probably already know this b/c I sent a text out to a bunch of people to share my joyous moment..lol.

Last week on the other hand wasn't bad.. but it wasn't my best week either. I only ran 5 miles once and 3 on the other 2 days. I didn't do a long run this week b/c I went out on Friday night and well.. you know... ;-)

I was already to start running on Monday with full force, but I started feeling icky on Sunday and then on into Monday so I decided not to push my luck (which turned out to be a good idea, as you will read later.

School: School has been going really well so far. Ill break it down by class.

Literary Criticism: I found out a key grade I've been waiting for on Monday. I made and A on a Essay I was harping over a few weeks ago. This really surprised me b/c I did not expect to do so well on it (actually almost fell out of my chair). We were to pick a sonnet (a poem that is 14 lines) and do an analysis on it. Well I picked a pretty hard poem; Silence by Edgar Allen Poe. I thought it was going to be easy at first, but as I started into the paper I realized I was wrong. I thought about changing sonnets but decided to push through this one. Turns out it was a good idea.

Shakespeare: I have not gotten any big grades back or anything, but I have read 3 whole plays that I had never read before (Henry the IV part 1, Henry V & A Midsummer Night's Dream). At first the reading of Shakespeare eluded me. But being the smart person that I am I went to the library and checked out the plays in modern English. This has been a great help. Although I spent $100 on my stupid book which I dont use. Boo!!

General Life Science & LAB: Okay.. so I actually like the lecture part of this class alot.. but I really hate the lab. It's like taking a another whole class; and it's only one day a week and 3hrs long. 3 WHOLE HOURS!! First of all I'm A.D.D. so that is totally not cool. How on Earth do they expect me to pay attention that long? Well needless to say I don't. LOL. If it wasn't for this hilarious "Queen" I have sitting at my table I would pull my hair out. He cracks me up every Monday. Thank you Gerald!!

My first test in the class went pretty well. I thought I was going to ace it for sure (I felt really good about it when I left). Needless to say I didn't ace it. I got 38 points out of 50; which is like a 76%. I wasn't too happy about it at first, but the class average was 26 points. I was 12 points about the average, so I can't complain too much. I guess sitting in the front row pays off..LOL. Anyhow, at this very moment I'm supposed to be writing my 8 page report for my lab (which I just started) that is due on Monday. I guess I can put it off just a little longer.

Everything Else: Not really a whole lot else going on except work, school and running. I'm getting really excited about my trip to San Diego in a few weeks. Tammy and I have picked been looking for our costumes and all that. We are going to be Yin and Yang again this year since we are not going to be in Dallas and the costume was such a hit last year. We are however changing it up a bit so that we dont look the same in pictures. I know it's silly.. but we're women ya know. Chris was out of town last week for around 9 days and I had the house to myself. It was kind of nice at first but I was defiantly ready for him to come home on Monday. I did go out w/ my girls last Friday, but I'm saving a whole different blog for that.. complete with pictures. So stay tuned (I should have that up in a day or so). So anyway, Tammy and I went and saw that movie "The Heartbreak Kid" w/ Ben Stiller , on Saturday afternoon. It was soooo funny. I recommend it to anyone who loves to laugh so hard they cry. Saturday night I had planned on staying home (well at Grandma's) and finally finishing my book "Lasher" by Anne Rice. I was so tired and really was starting to feel kind of yucky. Of course my little sis spoiled my plans of relaxation. Since I was staying at my Grandma's (where she still lives) she wanted me to go to Firewater with her and watch her friend Blake's band Venture play. Of course they were the last banc and I was there till 1:30am. They were amazing however and if you are into hard rock then I deff. suggest picking up their new album. You can hear their songs on their Myspace if you'd like to try before you buy. Anyhow, by the time I left I was so tired I could hardly stand and was praying all the way home that I didn't fall asleep at the wheel. Finally when I got home my ears were ringing so bad from standing next to the speaker that I could hardly fall asleep. Needless to say Sunday was a "do nothing" day for me. I came home and played Final Fantasy for like 8hrs straight before I crashed and went to bed. Monday was awful.. I felt bad that morning and didn't want to go to school, but did anyway. By the time I left my throat was hurting pretty badly. I had to pick up Chris at the airport so I couldn't' go to sleep. By the time I picked him up at 8pm I couldn't even talk my throat was so swollen. Turns out I had strep throat. Yuck. Well thanks to my super awesome liquid vitamins I'm all better now. I guess that's it. Until next time!!

STAY COOL!!
